Our programs:

Community Classes

Our Community Classes are by-donation classes aimed at making yoga accessible to all members of our community. A challenging and fun hour of yoga, where beginners can get a taste of what yoga is all about, and regular students can be sure to play, sweat, and laugh. Come as often as you like! These 60-minutes classes are $5 with no one turned away for lack of funds.

Work Trade Program

At Queen Street Yoga we offer students the opportunity to trade in their energy and skills for unlimited yoga classes. Please check out the Work Trade Program page to read more about this offering.

Queer & Trans Yoga

*This class will resume in February 2017, with YTT graduate Natalie Barrales-Hall. Join us on Thursdays at 6pm, starting Thursday Feb 2.

A class for folks who self-identify as queer, trans, LGBTQ+ and want to be part of a positive community space. All abilities, bodies, and sizes are welcome and celebrated in this beginner-friendly class. $5 to attend, with no one turned away for lack of funds. All proceeds will go to local Queer and Trans-Positive organizations.

Our intention is to provide a gathering place for yoga practice for those who may feel underrepresented in yoga studio communities, and help create a safer space where students can celebrate who they are. Queer and Trans Yoga is for all levels, and we will focus on breathing, mindfulness, and strength-building in a supportive and body-positive environment. A private, all-gender changeroom/washroom is available at the studio.

Join our Facebook group “QSY Queer and Trans Yoga”, or call or email us for details and updates.

Community Library

Become a member of our library by making a $5-$10 donation towards new books. Sign out books on yoga, meditation, Buddhism, art and body work, as well a number of magazines. Many of our books have been donated by community members, and we welcome new additions to our library.

We believe that the tools to help us feel connected to our bodies, open in our hearts and awake in our lives should be as accessible as possible. For this reason we are committed to offering yoga and meditation classes beyond the walls of QSY, bringing yoga and meditation to high schools, addiction programs, and social work projects.

Yoga Classes and Programs we have taught, or are currently running in our community include:

  • Grand Valley Institution for Women
  • Pathways to Education
  • KCI, Grand River, and Cameron Heights High Schools
