Below is a list of some of the workshops that we have offered in the past. (Current workshops)
The Joy of Singing: Singing can lift your spirits, reduce stress, build confidence, and strengthen your immune system. It's good medicine, and good fun. For six weeks, we will meet and join our voices in sound and song. Each night, a vocal tip or new exercise will be introduced. Over the course of the workshop, we'll work on a repertoire of songs, learning melodies and harmony parts. Most importantly, we'll share in the heart-warming experience of singing together. No experience necessary.
The Joy of Singing Continues: You've discovered the joy of singing, and just can't stop. We'll continue chanting, singing, and harmonizing...perfecting old songs & learning new ones. Plenty of opportunities to try solos or duets or small group singing, for those who are interested. The music lives on!
Jane is the founder of the Rise Up Singing/All Together Now workshop series. She had a history of singing in school choirs where she could hide behind the other voices. As for singing solo...no way! She was even too shy to sing in the shower when no one else was home. After she accidentally ended up in band, she made a concerted effort to get over her issues around making noise. She now sings frequently in public, and is always looking forward to her next performance. When she isn't making music, she works as a freelance editor. She is also the author of six young adult novels. She has just released her debut EP. www.janelewis.ca
So excited to do this again! Please join me! We will begin with stretching, releasing stress and building the capacity to be present in our physical body. Once in a state of embodied awareness participants will explore the exhibitions through a self-guided walk. The morning will conclude with a sharing of experiences.
Set in the gorgeous Clay and Glass Gallery, we will experience Julie Oakes show entitled "Swounds." At the heart of the exhibition is a flock of over 100 glass sparrows suspended from the gallery ceiling. No experience is necessary. Mats and props will be provided. Bring your own mat if you have one and a firm blanket.

Our workshop with Lauren last spring was a great success, really fun, and we invite you to join her this November to explore themes of presence, awareness and change, themes that often arise in our yoga practices. This workshop provides a different method with similar goals to yoga, the method being dance and movement.
Workshop description:
From moment to moment we change. Our bodies fill with air when we breathe in and empty when we exhale. Our thoughts jump from yesterday's chocolate bar to a conflict at work. Our relationships transition from distance to connected and apart again. From moment to moment, we have the possibility of choosing how we move with change.
During this three hour workshop, you will gain clarity on how you encounter change and the choices you make when faced with transition. We will experiment together using a variety of verbal and non-verbal exercises to feel our full range of aliveness. You are invited to come ready to move with and without music, through body and words.

This creates a practice experience that is quite exciting and unique. Watch as you're experience in the postures shifts and the elements coalesce to bring expansiveness(Air), structure and stability(Earth), fluidity (water), fire (clarity and heat) and finally the mysterious void. What is void you ask, you'll have to sign up to find out.

Whether your goal is to be faster, run longer or simply be able to enjoy your sport without pain, yoga is for you. Swimming, biking and running do wonderful things for the body but they also create imbalances in strength and flexibility. Those imbalances decrease the body's efficiency and put athletes at risk for injury. Yoga is the perfect complement to your training program as it relaxes and focuses the mind and balances the physical demands of your sport. Stretch your body and your mind with us.

A presentation of the Buddhist response to the basic existential facts of our human situation. These teachings on the value of a human rebirth, the fact of our impending death, the law of karma, and the sufferings of samsaric existence help us to overcome our ignorance about the real dimensions of our life, the effects of our actions and the goals we can aspire to.
This is a practice common to all traditions of Buddhism and allows the natural radiance of the mind to find a path of expression. This introduction will explain briefly why meditation is important and how to keep meditation practice fresh.
Tonglen - the practice of giving and taking - is a meditation from the Tibetan tradition that transforms our locked-in suffering mind into the outward-looking mind of a spiritual hero. By visualising taking on the pain of all beings we express fearlessness. And by visualising giving them all our joy and goodness we express generosity. Our own poverty and fear begin to melt away.
On Meaghan Johnson's travels in India she met an amazing, insightful, incredibly funny Buddhist monk who hails form Liverpool, England. Venerable Shenyen (or Martin if you wish) has a way of relating renunciation, compassion and correct view that makes these topics exciting, alive, thrilling even. Meaghan saw first hand how he ignited a spark in people to lead richer, more meaningful lives, and to walk full of love and wonder through the spaces of their own cultures. Venerable Shenyen's love of contemporary art, football (soccer) and music makes him a 'hooligan-monk'* that anyone can relate to.

This workshop is on how to develop and maintain a personal yoga practice you can do daily (or how frequently you wish) in your home.
Topics covered: obstacles to practice and how to overcome them; how to sequence a practice that is right for you; how motivation and intention plays a role in maintaining a practice.
Topics covered: restorative yoga poses, natural immune system boosters, botanical medicine, vitamins, minerals, homeopathics, dietary changes and how to make an informed decision about the 'flu' shot.
This workshop uses Tazae chanting, prayer, and guided imagery. Led by a Parish Priest, in this workshop participants will be invited into self-exploration, self-discovery and self-celebration through a ‘guided meditation.’ The workshop will begin and end with the use of simple chanting and prayer, and readings from “A Tree Full of Angels” (Seeing the Holy in the Ordinary). Entry into the meditation itself is enabled by relaxation through simple breathing and muscle control exercises. This meditation is in the form of a narrative that leads the participant through a series of experiences, some of which may be ‘trigger points’ to self-awareness and self-understanding. Opportunity isgiven for private, personal reflection following the meditation and for group discussion.
