For those wanting to go deeper in their process and receive more support, this Group is an additional component to Nicole’s BIPOC Yoga for Trauma Recovery Course. It includes four weeks of Virtual Group Therapy facilitated by Nicole, who is a Registered Psychotherapist. The four sessions of group therapy will take place on dates when there aren't live classes in the Course.

We are offering sliding-scale pricing for Group Therapy. We see this as a tiny step toward financial reparation, accountability, and accessibility. Nicole will be fully paid, with her pay subsidized by our fundraising efforts. Queen Street Yoga will be donating the space and time, and any funds raised beyond the costs of paying Nicole will go toward future BIPOC programming.

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves a therapist working with several people at the same time. Group therapy helps people work through problems by interacting with a therapist and a group of individuals with similar struggles. In a safe, confidential setting, each group member can share personal experiences, feelings, and issues and receive feedback and support from the rest of the group.

We may all be experiencing some form of helplessness and fear, such as denial and shock, during this very unique and very unusual time in the world. When traumatic events happen (such as COVID-19 or racialized violence), it may bring up other symptoms and patterns of behaviour associated with past traumas. This group is appropriate for those who have experienced grief and loss, trauma, addiction, symptoms of isolation, feelings of shame, loneliness, or anyone that feels they would benefit from group therapy while attending the Yoga for Trauma Recovery Course.

Maximum 12 participants in Group Therapy.

Tech Requirements:

A computer, tablet, or smartphone with webcam and microphone are required to participate. The online platform is very user-friendly, and two days before the first session we will provide you with instructions for getting started.
