TRE can help reduce stress and body tension, creating more ease and resilience in our physical, mental, and emotional lives. In this course, you will learn the technique of TRE (Tension/Trauma Release Exercise) and get to know your body's very own tremor mechanism.
The tremors induced by TRE are innate to all mammals (and birds!) and are called neurogenic tremors, indicating that they stem from and involve your nervous system. These tremors can arise naturally after stressful or traumatic events, and while it's more common for young children and birthing mothers to spontaneously shake, many adults have forgotten about or suppressed this intrinsic ability. The technique of TRE is a reliable and safer way to reconnect with ourselves and one another through the tremor mechanism.
The course will focus on both developing these self-induced and therapeutic tremors, but also on self-regulation: sensing how much is enough, and how to slow things down while remaining present to your experience. Each session will be 90 minutes, which will include time for checking in, reflecting and journaling, learning the exercises, and of course, tremoring.

In-Person 7-Week Course Overview:
This 7-week course includes 4 In-Person classes alternating with 3 weeks of online videos. All videos are yours to keep for a year. Please note there is no virtual-only version of this course.
Our In-Person classes follow strict physical distancing and cleaning protocols. We have a very large, well-ventilated room, and we are limiting class sizes to provide more than 2 metres between each mat.
What the Course Includes:
Weeks 1, 3, 5, and 7 will be in-person classes. These are interactive classes with opportunities for questions/feedback and connection with your instructor and classmates.
Weeks 2, 4, and 6 will be opportunities for you to practice along with specially created videos to review and build on your knowledge. You can practice these once or several times, and all the videos are yours to keep for a year.
A computer, tablet, or smartphone and internet connection is required to participate in weeks 2, 4, and 6. The online platform is very user-friendly, and two days before your course begins we will provide you with instructions for getting started.
